Restorative Dentistry
Dentures are removable prosthetic teeth designed to replace several missing teeth or a complete arch of teeth. Full dentures replace all teeth in an arch, while partial dentures fill spaces when some healthy natural teeth remain.
Planning Full or Partial Dentures
At Cal Dental Group, denture planning begins with an examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and supporting tissues. Your dentist will discuss your goals, current oral health, and the number and location of missing teeth. Depending on those findings, options may include full dentures, partial dentures, dental bridges, or implant-supported restorations.
Records or impressions are used to design the restoration. Once the denture is delivered, follow-up adjustments may be needed as you adapt to speaking and chewing with it. Your dental team will also review daily cleaning, overnight care, and the importance of continued dental visits for the health of your gums and remaining teeth. The American Dental Association’s partial denture guide offers additional patient information.
