DENTAL CARE FOR THE USC COMMUNITY
A Los Angeles Dentist for USC
Make room for your smile between classes, work, and everything else. Cal Dental Group welcomes University of Southern California students for dental care at our Crenshaw Boulevard office.
Studying at the University Park campus or living nearby? Find a dental team in Los Angeles for routine visits, unexpected concerns, and a plan that fits your semester.
A dental home while you are away from home
Moving to Los Angeles should not mean putting dental visits on hold until the next trip home. Whether you are a first-year student settling into campus life, a graduate student balancing research and work, or a commuter spending long days at USC, you can establish care with Cal Dental Group.
Start with the concern that matters to you: a checkup, a tooth that has been bothering you, or questions about your smile. Our team can evaluate your needs and discuss treatment steps, costs, and follow-up before you make a decision.
One office, a clear destination: 936 Crenshaw Blvd, Suite 101, Los Angeles, CA 90019. Cal Dental Group is an independent practice, not a USC campus clinic or university-affiliated provider.
Dental care for your college years
Explore the services that match your needs, then talk with the team about the right first appointment.
Checkups and everyday care
Keep routine care on your calendar during the semester. Discuss exams, cleanings, and any new concerns with a dentist, especially if it has been a while since your last visit.
Unexpected tooth problems
A toothache or broken restoration can interrupt a packed week. Call to describe what is happening and ask about the next available appropriate appointment. Urgent visit availability must be confirmed.
Restorative treatment
If a tooth needs repair, ask about your options, expected visits, and follow-up. Let us know about exams, travel, or semester breaks when discussing a treatment schedule.
Orthodontic and cosmetic goals
Thinking about straighter teeth or a smile change before graduation? A consultation can help you understand suitability, cost, and timing. Share any plans to study abroad or move after graduation.
Plan care around your semester
When you request an appointment, mention your class or work schedule and any upcoming travel. Ask how long the visit is expected to take, and allow extra time for the trip from campus.
- Evening availability: Thursday office hours extend to 8 p.m.
- Weekend option: Saturday office hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Before a break: Discuss follow-up needs before leaving Los Angeles.
- Ongoing treatment: Bring details of care started with another dentist so the team can review the next steps.
Hours do not guarantee an open appointment. Check current office information and confirm your visit with the team.
Understand costs before treatment
If you have dental coverage through a parent, employer, or student plan, share the exact plan details when scheduling. Ask the office to check participation and benefits and explain your estimated share of the cost.
Do not assume that a student health plan includes the dental services you want or that every dentist accepts it. Confirm coverage directly with your insurer and our office.
Without dental insurance? Review our dental membership plan and ask about current terms and visit costs. Membership is not insurance, and no USC-specific discount is implied.
Getting here from USC’s University Park campus
Your appointment is at 936 Crenshaw Blvd, Suite 101, Los Angeles, CA 90019, away from the USC campus. Use the full address when arranging a rideshare or planning a drive so you arrive at the correct office.
For trips from the University Park campus, USC Village, or nearby student housing, check a live map from your actual starting point. The best route and travel time will vary with traffic and transportation choice. If you use public transit, check current connections and the walk to the office before booking your visit.
Call ahead with questions about parking, building access, or arrival instructions. Leave room in your schedule for both the appointment and your return trip to campus.
Your first visit: a student checklist
- Tell us why you are coming. Mention pain, a specific concern, or a routine checkup when requesting care.
- Bring your information. Have identification, dental insurance details if applicable, and a list of medications ready.
- Coordinate records. Ask your previous dentist about sending relevant records with your permission.
- Share your timeline. Mention study abroad, school breaks, or a move that could affect follow-up.
- Ask questions. Discuss recommendations, estimated costs, and the number of visits before starting treatment.

Questions from USC students
Is Cal Dental Group part of USC?
No. Cal Dental Group is an independent dental practice serving USC students at 936 Crenshaw Blvd, Suite 101, Los Angeles, CA 90019. We are not located on campus or affiliated with the university.
Can I use my student dental insurance?
Contact us with your dental plan name and member details before your visit. Network participation, benefits, and estimated out-of-pocket costs need to be checked for your specific plan. Enrollment at USC alone does not establish coverage at our office.
Can I schedule around classes?
Our published hours include Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ask about current availability and how much time to allow for the type of visit you need. Appointment requests are confirmed by the office.
What if I need dental care while my regular dentist is back home?
You can request a visit while studying in Los Angeles. Tell us about current treatment and ask your regular dentist to share relevant records or recent X-rays with your authorization. We can discuss which care to complete locally and how follow-up fits your plans.
What if I do not have dental insurance?
Ask about our dental membership plan, current terms, and the expected cost of your visit. A membership plan is not dental insurance. The team can explain applicable options before you decide how to proceed.
