What do All-on-4 and All-on-6 mean?
The names describe full-arch designs supported by four or six implants. Full-mouth treatment may involve both arches, each planned separately. More implants are not automatically the right choice, and four are not suitable for everyone. Bone availability, implant positions, bite forces, and the final teeth all affect the recommendation.
Fixed teeth or a removable implant denture?
A fixed full-arch bridge stays in your mouth and is removed by a dental professional when necessary. A removable implant denture comes out for cleaning. Ask to see examples of both designs and compare cleaning access, lip support, speech, repair needs, and total cost.
Will I leave with teeth the same day?
Some suitable patients receive temporary fixed teeth on the day of surgery. This requires planning and adequate implant stability; it does not mean treatment or healing is complete. Final teeth are generally a later stage. Ask what the backup temporary plan will be if immediate fixed teeth are not appropriate.
Design your plan around everyday life
Tell the team how you want to eat, smile, and speak, and whether you can manage cleaning beneath fixed teeth. Discuss the proposed material, including zirconia restoration options, the appearance of the gum-colored portion, and maintenance. Ask which natural teeth can be preserved before agreeing to extractions. A full-arch consultation should explain each stage and the alternatives, not only the implant count.

Questions patients ask
Is All-on-4 the same as full-mouth implants?
All-on-4 describes one full-arch design. Full-mouth rehabilitation can involve the upper arch, lower arch, or both; confirm exactly what your plan includes.
Does All-on-4 always avoid bone grafting?
No. Some plans reduce the need for grafting, but your anatomy and proposed implant positions determine whether additional preparation is necessary.
Are the final teeth permanent?
Fixed teeth stay in place for everyday use, but they still need professional maintenance and may need repair or replacement. “Fixed” does not mean guaranteed for life.

Implant-supported dentures
Implant-supported dentures use dental implants to help hold replacement teeth in place.
Same-day implants
Same-day implant care may combine selected treatment steps, but the phrase can mean different things.
Cost & financing
The cost of dental implants depends on what is being replaced and the care needed to complete the treatment.
